i am enough.

A small pink post-it note which reads "I am not for everyone. Not everyone is for me. I am enough." sits on a window sill between a purple glass owl and an aloe plant.

I am not for everyone.
Not everyone is for me.
I am enough.

This is hard for anyone who likes to be liked. It’s complicated for those who have traumatic experiences with rejection. Growing up in a dysfunctional family can also set us up for this struggle. It can be difficult to hold the actions or inactions of others loosely or decline to let those things speak to our sense of self-worth.

But we can choose to speak the truth to ourselves. I put little reminders all over my house. Little mantras that I repeat to myself until they stick. How can you remind yourself of your power and value today?
